still cannot bring myself to be comortable with the phonetic resonance of "blog" which has to be onomatopoeia for some gastral function. therefore, (and through some dashing use of flags) "blogs" and the derivatives thereof are "onjour" or online journaling.

I understand the etymology of blog to be a reduction/collision of web log, as in you got your captain’s log in my world wide web, so “onjour” would be following the same “rules” to neologism. “Journal” is clearly Latinate French in origin, while “log” seems most definitely to come down from the old English line (Middle English logge, “of obscure origin”-American Heritage Dictionary), so part of your resistance could be read from the Marxist side as typical elitism of the ruling class associating all things lower class with the shit they are forced to shovel. Regardless of that subtext, the current anti-French sentiment may undermine a populist shift to your new term, the result of which may cause you some ennui, but I’ll support you in this cause should you wish to further propagate your new term.
while learned and well done, it really is the actual phonetics of the word, i mean come on... tell me "blog" is not quite similar to the sounds humans make when throwing up. regardless of national origin, language background or time period.
